Part 10 — Commerce
Refund Policy
A clear, honest breakdown of when we issue refunds and when we do not — covering every payment type on the platform.
Overview
LinkStacked operates a mixed marketplace: we sell subscriptions directly, and we facilitate creator-to-buyer commerce for digital products and tips. Our refund policy differs by payment type because the nature of each transaction is fundamentally different.
Subscription fees
We will issue a refund for subscription fees if:
- You are charged after you cancelled your subscription within the same billing cycle, due to our technical error
- You were charged twice for the same subscription period (duplicate charge)
- You signed up and requested cancellation within 14 days of first subscribing and have not used any paid feature (EU statutory 14-day cooling-off period — see Section 7)
- A material platform outage prevented you from accessing paid features for more than 48 consecutive hours in a billing period
Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain paid access until then. No partial or pro-rated refunds are issued for mid-cycle downgrades.
Digital product purchases
Exceptions where we will process or assist with a refund:
- The product was not delivered — your download link was broken or expired before first use (contact us within 48 hours)
- The delivered file is fundamentally different from its description (e.g. wrong product delivered entirely)
- The product contains malware or harmful code (report immediately to safety@linkstacked.com)
- You were charged fraudulently without your authorisation
- A EU/UK consumer invokes their 14-day right of withdrawal before downloading the product (see Section 7)
Refund requests involving creator disputes are mediated between you and the creator. We may assist in resolving genuine disputes but we are not obligated to issue refunds from our own funds for creator-to-buyer transactions where the creator is at fault — the creator bears that responsibility.
For products marketed as AI-generated or "prompt-based": you accept that output quality may vary and these are not eligible for refunds due to creative dissatisfaction.
Theme purchases
Theme purchases from the LinkStacked marketplace follow the same no-refund-by-default rule as digital products. Themes are delivered as code/asset files upon purchase.
Refunds are available if:
- The theme is broken upon delivery and the creator does not provide a fix within 72 hours of your report
- The theme contains undisclosed malicious code
- The theme was materially misrepresented (e.g. shown to work with a feature it demonstrably cannot)
See our Theme Marketplace Terms for full quality standards and dispute procedures.
Tips
Tips are voluntary, non-contractual payments. They are final and non-refundable.
See our Tips Policy for the narrow exceptions (fraud, duplication, and coercion).
Platform commission
LinkStacked's platform commission is deducted automatically when a sale occurs. Commission is non-refundable, including in cases where the creator issues a buyer refund for other reasons.
If a buyer receives a refund because of a platform error on our part (e.g. delivery failure caused by our infrastructure), we will refund the commission portion attributable to that transaction.
Mandatory consumer rights
Certain consumer rights cannot be excluded by contract. These vary by jurisdiction. Key statutory rights that apply where relevant:
- EU / UK 14-day cooling-off right: Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive and UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from digital product purchases — unless the consumer has expressly consented to immediate digital delivery and acknowledged that the right of withdrawal is lost upon download. Our checkout flow captures this consent explicitly.
- German consumer protection: As a German-registered entity, we comply with the Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch (BGB) and relevant EU directives on digital content contracts. If mandatory consumer law in your country provides rights that exceed these defaults, those rights apply.
- Defective products: Where a digital product is defective and the creator fails to remedy within a reasonable time, applicable consumer law may entitle you to a full or partial refund regardless of our no-refund default.
How to request a refund
- For subscription refund queries: Settings → Billing → Request Refund, or email billing@linkstacked.com with your order reference.
- For digital product disputes: first contact the creator via the receipt email. If unresolved within 5 days, escalate to legal@linkstacked.com with your order ID, a description of the issue, and any supporting evidence.
- For tip refunds: contact legal@linkstacked.com within 48 hours with evidence of fraud or technical error.
- For chargebacks: contact your bank or card issuer directly. Filing an unwarranted chargeback may result in suspension of your LinkStacked account.
We aim to respond to all refund requests within 5 business days. Approved refunds are processed within 7–14 business days and will appear on the original payment method.
